studying the position of project management in strategic planning of general contractors' co's (the case of international co. of pars development and engineering)

delay in implementation and delivery of projects of general contractors working in oil, gas and petrochemical projects, together with their law profits, are the main reasons for writing this paper. it has been tried in t6he article to present an actual and applied method of decision making to determine strategic goals, strategic planning and its relation with the standards of project management. also, it presents and appropriate method for the use of multi attribute decision making (madm) model to rank strategic planning indices. at the first stage, with the help of topsis algorithm, the best indices have been chosen and ranked. then, the indices have been linked with pmbok's scopes and processes. later, for each index, adoptable and practical procedures and clear out comes have been determined. in the process of the research, this approach has been implemented in one of idro's general contractors.
